Warton supply titration kits
for the accurate control of the majority of fluxes. Titration kits are
easy to use within the production environment.

Titration Kit Contents
A) 1 x 250 ml plastic conical flask with screw cap.
B) 1 x 10 ml plastic graduated titration syringe.
C) 1 x 5ml polypropylene sampling syringe.
D) 1 x 20 ml glass dropper bottle containing Phenolphthalein indicator
solution.
F) 1 x 250 ml bottle of NaOH, N/10 solution.
1 x 500 ml top up bottle of NaOH, N/10 solution available on request.
How to use a
Titration Kit supplied by Warton
a) Using the sampling syringe, withdraw 5.0 ml of the
flux to be titrated, transfer to the vial.
b) Add one drop of the indicator solution.
c) Using the calibrated syringe, fill in the syringe with
the titration solution (NaOH N/10) (ensure no air is trapped within the liquid).
d) Place tip of syringe into vial and slowly transfer
contents into the vial. The solution will turn purple, but return to clear on
agitation/ swirling of vial.
e) Continue adding titration solution (NaOH N/10) in
small increments with agitation after each addition until the solution remains
purple, i.e. the endpoint has been attained. Note the amount of titration
solution needed to reach this permanent colour change, being careful not to pass
the minimum addition needed, as this will give a false reading.
f) Use the titration control chart below to assess the
result obtained to the specified range.
