Omega rosin free (colophony) cored solder wire which contains no rosin/resin acids, pine oil or other naturally occurring derivatives from pine trees and has been specifically designed to help reduce the number or world wide cases of industrial asthma, related to rosin usage within a cored solder wire. Omega is available in all solder alloys, including lead free alloys and in wire gauges from 10swg (3.25mm) to 32swg (0.274mm). Omega passes the copper mirror corrosion and surface insulation requirements of Bellcore TR-NWT-000078 and J-STD-004. Omega is available in 3 formulations and varying flux percentages to suit all applications.

Omega Standard Cored Solder Wire

Omega contains no rosin (colophony), resin acids, pine oil or other naturally occurring derivatives from pine trees and has been specifically designed to reduce the number of world-wide cases of industrial asthma, related to rosin usage within a cored solder wire. Omega provides excellent wetting whilst leaving a minimal no clean, clear residue. Cleaning by batch or in-line processes is not suitable, however, if residues need to be removed use Warton Total Clean 130 cleaner.

Omega II Rosin Free Cored Solder Wire

Omega II provides excellent wetting whilst leaving a minimal no clean, clear residue. Omega II is rosin free and formulated without the use of halides and is supplied as a 3%, 2% and 1% flux content wire.
Omega II is rated as an M-OR-L0 flux type in accordance with J-STD-004 and passes Bellcore TR-NWT-000078 / J-STD-004 copper mirror corrosion requirements.

Omega II works well with lead free alloys.

Omega Plus Cored Solder Wire

Omega Plus+ exhibits minimal clear residues and offers an improved flow rate, with an addition of halide activation (performance in-line with the old RMA technology). Omega Plus+ is available as a 3%, 2% and 1% flux content to enable the user to determine between flow rate and acceptable residue levels. Omega Plus+ is rated as an ORL1 in accordance with J-STD-004 and passes the Surface Insulation Resistance and Corrosion requirements of both J-STD-004 and Bellcore GR-78 Core.

Omega Brush-Wipe Cored Solder Wire

Omega Brush-Wipe Rosin Free Cored Solder Wire is a flux ‘core’ contained in Warton High Purity Cored Solder Wire. Omega Brush-Wipe (BW) offers a Brush-Wipe, halide free residue for operations that require extreme cleanliness, without the use of solvent bench top cleaners. Residues are easily removed with a dry brush. Omega Brush-Wipe is treated as an ORL0 flux type in accordance with J-STD-004 and passes the Surface Insulation Resistance and Corrosion requirements of both J-STD-004 and Bellcore GR-78 Core. Omega BW is available as 1% flux.
